What we do
IQF Berries
We offer certified organic sea buckthorn berries from closely managed plantations in Hiiumaa, harvested late in the season for a milder, more balanced profile. Our berries are used in professional food and beverage applications where consistency is essential.
Propagation
By maintaining our own nursery network, we ensure varietal consistency and long-term quality. Our primary sea buckthorn variety, Botanicheskaya, has been cultivated within our system since the 1990s. Planting material is available for wholesale on request.
Recipes & Know-How
Sea buckthorn is complex in both flavour and processing. We work with partners to develop products that respect its natural acidity, colour and oil content. Our work is based on decades of experience with the berry and its behaviour in processing.
Freshness from Field to Freezer
Our berries are taken to the cold storage plant for processing on the day of harvesting, assuring the ultimate freshness of the product. Berries are frozen by IQF, then go through initial removal of large branches and leaves.
Semi-cleaned berries are then sent to electronic sorting (Sortex Niagara/Sortex Buhler). The processing plant meets the ISO2200:2005 standards and has the certificate for processing and storage of organic berries.

Nutritional components
Sea buckthorn is valued for its diverse nutrient profile, with over 200 identified bioactive components found in the berries, leaves, and seeds. These include flavonoids, plant sterols, fatty acids (including OMEGA-7), organic acids, and a broad spectrum of vitamins such as A, C, E, K, and several B-group vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12). In addition, sea buckthorn contains amino acids, dietary fibre, and essential macronutrients.
Minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and iron are also present in notable amounts. Studies have measured the antioxidant capacity of sea buckthorn and described its bioactive compounds as relevant in the development of health-supporting food products. The berry’s natural profile makes it a useful ingredient in products aimed at providing a broad range of nutrients from plant-based sources.
