Dago Seaberry & Astelpaju Eksport TÜ

Dago Seaberry is a health food brand from Estonia, dedicated to producing high-quality sea buckthorn berries. Grown in a pristine, unspoiled environment, our berries are full of natural goodness.

The brand is part of Astelpaju Eksport TÜ, an innovative cooperative focused on cultivating Hippophae rhamnoides through sustainable and collaborative farming.

30+ years of experience

Our family's relationship with this plant began back in 1994 when the first hectares were planted. Today, the family business has expanded to over 900ha of plantations - biggest in Estonia and Europe.

This photo was taken over 25 years ago during our very first sea buckthorn harvest. It marked the beginning of a journey that continues to shape everything we do. Since then, the image has accompanied us to numerous trade fairs, serving as a reminder of where it all began.

Hiiumaa - the 'Day' Island

Our main plantations are located on the island of Hiiumaa, Estonia. All our berries are grown in an ecologically unpolluted natural park territory away from big cities and roads. Hiiumaa island is historically known as Dagö in Swedish, Dagden in German, and Dagø in Danish. Hiiumaa is characterized by almost 300 kilometers of twisting coastline, unspoiled beaches, clear sea air, fragrant forests, and one of the oldest still-in-use lighthouses in the world. Hiiumaa is also recognized as part of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB) for its unique natural landscapes, rich biodiversity, and commitment to sustainable development.

Nature in Every Berry

A wild moose steps quietly through our sea buckthorn field on Hiiumaa — as if to see how the season is coming along.
Out here, the rows of berries grow between stretches of forest and sea. The island’s sandy soil, sea wind, and northern sun shape their ripening.
We don’t use chemicals, and we don’t interfere more than necessary. That’s often enough.

This video was filmed in late autumn 2016, when work began on what would become Estonia’s longest sea buckthorn field — more than two kilometres end to end.
